Ever wish you could just pick up where you left off on another device? Syncing your browser tabs is the way to do it! Chrome, Firefox, and Edge all have built-in tools that let you do this. Here’s how you can sync your tabs across all your devices. I’ll show you how it works between a computer and a phone, but the process is pretty much the same between any two devices.
Syncing Tabs Using Chrome
Chrome makes it pretty simple to keep all your open tabs in sync. Make sure you are signed in on all devices you’d like to sync.
Turning on Sync for Chrome on Desktop

Start by opening Chrome on your computer, then click the three dots in the upper-right corner and choose “Settings.”

In the Settings, click on “Turn on sync” if you haven’t already enabled it. You’ll usually see this at the top.

Click “Yes, I’m in” to confirm.

To make sure tabs are syncing, click on “Manage what you sync.”

If “Sync everything” is chosen, then you are already syncing tabs. If you choose “Customize sync”, make sure that “Open tabs” is toggled on.
Now, let’s move on to setting up sync on your mobile.
Turning on Sync for Chrome on Mobile

Open the Chrome app on your phone. Tap the three dots at the bottom of the screen (iOS) or the top-right corner (Android).

Select “Settings” from the menu.

If you aren’t already syncing, tap “Sync and Google Services.”

Toggle on “Sync your Chrome data” to enable syncing.

Tap on “Manage Sync” to verify that tabs are included in the sync.

If “Sync everything” is enabled, your tabs are already being synced. Otherwise, ensure that “Open tabs” is turned on.
Make sure to repeat these steps on all the devices where you use Chrome.
Accessing Tabs Open on Other Devices Using Chrome on Desktop
- On your desktop, press
CTRL + H
or go to the menu to open your browser history. - In the history page, on the left sidebar, find and select “Tabs from other devices”.
- You’ll see a list of open tabs from your other devices. Click any tab to open it.
Accessing Tabs Open on Other Devices Using Chrome on Mobile
- In the Chrome mobile app, tap the three dots menu icon.
- From the menu, select “Recent Tabs.”
- Here you can view and tap on tabs from your other devices.
Syncing Tabs Using Edge
Edge also lets you sync tabs, just make sure you’re logged into the same Microsoft account on all devices.
Turning on Sync for Edge on Desktop
- Open Edge on your desktop, and click on your profile picture in the top part of the browser.
- If sync is off, click on “Turn on sync.”
- To ensure that tabs are synced, click on “Manage profile settings” in the profile menu.
- On the settings page, select “Sync”.
- Make sure “Open tabs” is enabled. Turn it on if it’s off.
Turning on Sync for Edge on Mobile
- Open the Edge app on your mobile device, and tap the three-dot menu at the bottom.
- From the menu, choose “Settings.”
- Tap your “Account” under the “Accounts” section.
- Under “Sync settings” tap “Sync.”
- Turn on the “Sync” toggle, and then check that “Open tabs” is enabled under “Data items”.
- Confirm that “Open tabs” is enabled for syncing.
Accessing Tabs Open on Other Devices Using Edge on Desktop
- In Edge, click the three dots menu icon, and hover over “History”.
- Tabs from your other devices are listed below, click on any tab to open it.
Accessing Tabs Open on Other Devices Using Edge on Mobile
- Open Edge on your mobile and tap on the “Tabs” icon at the bottom.
- Select “Recent tabs” at the top of the page.
- Tap on any of the tabs listed under the device name to open them on your mobile.
Syncing Tabs Using Firefox
Firefox also allows you to sync your open tabs. Make sure you are signed into the same Firefox account on every device.
Turning on Sync for Firefox on Desktop
- Open Firefox on your computer and click the three lines in the upper-right corner and select “Options”.
- On the left sidebar of the Options page, click on “Sync”.
- If sync isn’t set up, click “Set Up Sync” and sign in with your Firefox account. If you are signed in, make sure “Open Tabs” is included in the sync by clicking “Change” next to “Syncing”.
- In the “Choose What To Sync” window, make sure “Open Tabs” is checked, then click “Save Changes”.
Turning on Sync for Firefox on Mobile
- Open Firefox on your phone and tap the three lines in the bottom-right corner.
- Tap “Sign in to Sync” if you aren’t already logged in, and then sign in using your Firefox account.
- After signing in, tap the menu icon again, and tap on your email at the top.
- Make sure “Open Tabs” is enabled to include them in the sync.

- In Firefox on your computer, click the menu, and select your account from the dropdown.
- Here, you’ll see the tabs from your other devices, click on any of them to open them on your desktop.
Accessing Tabs Open on Other Devices Using Firefox on Mobile
- Open Firefox on your mobile and scroll down on the home screen to the “Your Library” section and tap “Synced Tabs.”
- Now you can tap on any tab to open it, they are grouped under each device name.
You can also tap the menu icon, choose “Your Library” and then choose “Synced Tabs” at the bottom-right corner.
