Safari Extensions: How to Install and Use Them on Your Mac

Hey everyone, I wanted to share how you can supercharge your Safari browser with extensions. They can do all sorts of cool things, from blocking ads to making you more productive. Let’s get into how to install and enable them.

Installing Safari extensions

  1. First, open up Safari on your Mac. Then, look for the Safari menu in the top menu bar and click it.

  2. Next, from the dropdown, choose Safari Extensions.

  3. This should take you to the Safari Extensions section of the App Store.

  4. Now, you can browse the extensions or use the search bar to find something specific you want. Click the extension you’re interested in to see more info about it.

  5. Take a look at the description and screenshots to see if it does what you need. If you’re ready, click the Get button.

  6. The button will change to Install. Click Install to download and install the extension.

Enabling Safari extensions

  1. Now that you’ve got your extension, you need to turn it on. Go back to Safari and click on the Safari menu again, then choose Preferences.

  2. In the preferences window, click on the Extensions tab.

  3. You’ll see a list of your installed extensions. Just tick the box next to the extension you want to enable.

Your extension should now be active, and you’ll usually see its icon next to the address bar in Safari.
