Playing Shuffleboard on iPhone iMessage

Hey everyone, did you know you can play Shuffleboard right in iMessage on your iPhone? It’s a great way to have a quick game with friends without needing a separate app. Let’s get into how it works!

First off, you’ll need the GamePigeon app, which contains Shuffleboard. Here’s how to install it.

Installing GamePigeon for Shuffleboard

Since Shuffleboard isn’t a standalone iMessage app, you will need the GamePigeon app which is a collection of games. Follow these steps to get it and start playing:

  1. Start by opening your Messages app from your iPhone’s home screen.
  2. Select any existing conversation or start a new one by choosing a contact.
  3. Look for the grey App Store icon, and tap it to display the app bar which is located next to the text input field.
  4. In the app bar, tap the blue App Store icon to access the iMessage App Store.
  5. Tap the Search icon located in the top right corner.
  6. Type GamePigeon into the search bar, then hit the search button on your keyboard.
  7. Find GamePigeon in the results and tap Get next to it to install. If prompted, verify using your Apple ID.

Starting a Shuffleboard Game

Now that GamePigeon is installed, let’s start a game of Shuffleboard!

  1. Open the Messages app on your phone.

  2. Open a chat with the friend you’d like to play with. Or, tap the new message icon, select a contact, and create a new chat.

  3. In the conversation view, scroll through the app bar (above the keyboard) to find and select the GamePigeon icon.

  4. From the available game selection, tap the Shuffleboard icon.

  5. Under the Game Mode section, select Map 1. Maps 2 and 3 are for the paid version of the app.

  6. If you want, add a message in the text box, and then tap Send to invite your contact to play.

Your friend will get your invite and can start the game by selecting the game tile within your chat. Note that your friend also needs GamePigeon installed.

Once your friend has completed their turn, it’s your turn.

  7. To aim your puck, use the slider at the bottom to select the shooting position.

  8. Slide your finger up to set power and trajectory, and also move it left or right to fine-tune the direction of the puck.

  9. When you are happy with the power and aim, tap the Launch button to send the puck.

After your first shot, you have two more pucks to send for the round.

Try to knock your opponent’s pucks off the board or into lower score sections to get ahead. This is especially useful if you have the last turn.

The game is made up of three rounds with three turns each. The player with the highest score at the end of all rounds wins.

Turning Shuffleboard Sounds On or Off

If you prefer to play without sound, here is how to turn off the music and sound effects:

  1. While in a game, tap the Gear icon in the bottom left corner to view settings.
  2. Tap the Music button to mute the background music. Tap the Sound button to mute the sound effects.

In this settings menu, you can also customize the look of your avatar using the options above the sound settings.

That’s all there is to it! Have fun playing Shuffleboard with your friends right in iMessage!
