Microsoft Releases New Windows 11 23H2 Build to Release Preview Channel

The latest Windows 11, version 23H2, build 22631.4969, has landed on the Release Preview Channel. This update brings a collection of improvements and fixes across various system components, and these enhancements are expected to be included in the upcoming optional update for Windows 11 version 23H2 later in the month. Taskbar Jumplists

Direct file sharing from taskbar jump lists is now available.

Windows Spotlight

Users can now learn more about Windows Spotlight background images more easily. Hovering over the image or clicking the “Learn about this picture” icon in the lower-right corner of the desktop will provide additional information.

Lock Screen Wallpaper

Clicking the “Like” icon on the lock screen now displays more information about the selected image.

Narrator Scan Mode

New functions are available for Narrator scan mode. Insiders can now navigate to the text after a link (n), jump to the start of an item (,), jump to the end of an item (.), or quickly access a list on a web page or within a document (l).

Game Pass Ad in Settings

Those signed in with their Microsoft accounts may find a PC Game Pass referral card on the Settings home page, allowing them to invite friends and family to try PC Game Pass for free.

File Explorer

This update disables account-based content within File Explorer under Recent, Favorites, Details Pane, and Recommended for Entra ID accounts in the European Economic Area.

Windows 10 Insiders on the Release Preview Channel are also receiving the 22H2 build 19045.5552 today. This update focuses on stability and regional updates, as it adds support for daylight saving time changes in Paraguay and updates Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA) profiles for select mobile operators.
