Method 1: Mute Notifications for Specific Chats or Rooms

If you’re only bothered by specific conversations, you can mute individual chats or rooms directly within Gmail. This allows you to stay informed about the important stuff without being bombarded by everything else.

1. Open Gmail in your browser. Go to mail.google.com and log in.
2. Find the chat or room you want to silence in the sidebar. Hover your mouse over the name, and you’ll see three vertical dots (a menu) appear. Click on it.
