How to Manage Worker Housing in Schedule 1

Schedule 1 puts you in charge of running an illicit business empire. A key part of that is managing your workforce efficiently. One of the first tasks you’ll face is assigning beds to your newly hired workers. Let’s explore the ins and outs of employee housing management in Schedule 1.

Assigning Beds to Workers

When you hire new employees, they need a place to sleep before they’ll start working. Here’s how to get them set up:

Step 1: Open your Management Clipboard by pressing the 9 key or scrolling through your inventory.

Step 2: Look at the worker you want to assign and press E to bring up their management board.

Step 3: Click the “Assign Bed” option on their management board.

Step 4: Walk up to an available bed and click on it to assign it to that employee.

You’ll know the assignment was successful when:

  • The bed sheets change color
  • The worker’s portrait appears on the bed frame
  • A briefcase appears at the foot of the bed

The briefcase is crucial - it’s where you’ll deposit wages for your employee. Make sure to keep it stocked or your workers won’t perform their duties.

Paying Your Workers

Assigning a bed is only half the battle. You also need to keep your employees paid:

Step 1: Approach the assigned bed and locate the briefcase at the foot.

Step 2: Interact with the briefcase to open it.

Step 3: Deposit cash into the available slots. You can pay daily wages or deposit a larger sum to cover multiple days at once.

Step 4: Close the briefcase. The worker will automatically collect their wages from here.

Keep an eye on the wage amounts listed in each worker’s management tab. Different job types have different pay rates.

Unassigning and Reassigning Beds

Sometimes you may need to shuffle your worker housing arrangements:

Step 1: Open the Management Clipboard and select the worker whose bed you want to unassign.

Step 2: Click the “Unassign Bed” option on their management board.

Step 3: To make the bed usable again, you must pick it up into your inventory (hold right-click) and then place it back down.

Step 4: You can now assign this bed to a new worker following the original assignment steps.

Tips for Efficient Worker Management

  • Purchase beds from hardware stores around town for $150 each. Stock up early to accommodate workforce growth.
  • Consider your hideout size when planning worker accommodations. You’ll need space for employee beds plus your own.
  • Always assign duties to workers via the Management Clipboard after setting up their bed and wages.
  • Different worker types (Cleaners, Handlers, Botanists, Chemists) have varying wage rates. Plan your budget accordingly.
  • Regularly check briefcases to ensure workers have sufficient funds. Unpaid workers won’t perform their tasks.

Managing your workforce effectively is key to building a successful empire in Schedule 1. With these bed assignment and payment strategies, you’ll keep your workers happy, productive, and loyal to your growing criminal enterprise.
