Deleting Pages in Word: A Quick Guide

Ever find yourself wrestling with Word docs, trying to get rid of those pesky blank pages or whole pages of content? It can be frustrating, but don’t worry, here’s a straightforward guide to tackle this issue.

Method 1: Deleting a Page with Content

If you have a page full of stuff you want to nuke, this method is super efficient.

  1. Place your cursor anywhere on the page you want to delete.

  2. Hit CTRL + G to bring up the ‘Go To’ dialog box.

  3. In the “Enter page number” field, type \page and then click on ‘Go To’. This will select everything on that page.

Method 2: Deleting a Blank Page

Blank pages can be tricky because they often sneak in from paragraph marks and page breaks. Here’s how to handle them:

  1. Start by displaying paragraph marks so you can see the hidden formatting symbols causing the blank page. Click on the symbol in the ‘Home’ tab.

  2. Now, go to the blank page. You’ll notice these formatting symbols that are making the page exist.

  3. Select all the paragraph marks on the blank page. To do this efficiently, drag from left to right or double-click each mark, as you can’t select them with a right-to-left drag.

  4. Hit the Delete key. The blank page should vanish from your document.
