Customize Your Chrome Cursor

We spend a huge amount of time online, and that little cursor is with us every step of the way. Why not make it a little more interesting? A custom cursor is a small change that can really spice up your browsing experience. Getting one in Chrome is surprisingly easy, thanks to a bunch of cool extensions. All you need is one of these extensions, and you’ll have tons of options for different cursors to choose from.

Customizing your cursor can make your daily browsing less monotonous. Let’s look at how to get it done.

Installing the Custom Cursor Extension

The “Custom Cursor for Chrome” extension is one of the most popular options for custom cursors. It’s simple to use and has a huge selection of cursors, covering everything from cartoons, anime, and movies, to sports, holidays, and even Minecraft and lightsabers!

You’ll never run out of cursor choices, and you can even upload your own. There’s also a Windows app if you want a custom cursor across your whole system. And, the extension is perfectly safe to use.

To get started, open Chrome and head to the Chrome web store. Search for the ‘Custom Cursor for Chrome’ web extension.

Click the ‘Add to Chrome’ button to install the extension in your browser.

A confirmation window will pop up. Click ‘Add extension’ to finish the installation.

Setting Your Custom Cursor

Once you have the extension installed, choosing a custom cursor is super simple.

Note: Custom cursors don’t work on the Chrome homepage or in the Chrome Web Store.

Go to any other website, or refresh the page if you had another website open while installing the extension.

Then, click on the ‘Extensions’ icon, usually on the right side of your address bar, and then click the ‘Custom Cursor for Chrome’ extension. You can also pin the extension to your address bar using the ‘Pin’ icon in the menu.

The extension menu will open up. You’ll already have some cursor packs loaded. Each pack has two cursors: one for regular browsing and one for when you hover over a link. To pick a cursor, click on the pack you want to use.

And there you go! Your cursor will be changed!

To find even more cursors, click the ‘More cursors’ option.

You’ll be taken to the extension’s website where they’re always adding new cursor packs. Click ‘Add’ on any pack you want to include in your collection.

Uploading Your Own Custom Cursor

You can also upload your own cursors to the extension. Click the ‘Upload cursor’ button in the extension menu.

You’ll be redirected to a page where you can upload your custom cursor images. Make sure they are less than 128 x 128 pixels, have a transparent background, and are in .png format. You’ll need two pictures for your cursor pack. Click on the ‘arrow’ to upload the browsing cursor and the ‘hand’ to upload the link cursor.

Changing Cursor Size

To change the size of your cursor, click the ‘Cursor size’ option in the top-right of the extension menu.

Then, adjust the size of the cursor using the slider that pops up.

The Custom Cursors for Chrome extension is a fantastic way to inject some fun into something we see all the time – our cursor! It’s incredibly easy to use and has so many options.
