Customize Your Bixby Wake Word on the Galaxy S25

The Galaxy S25 series has arrived, bringing with it not just the power of Google’s Gemini, but also a nifty update to Samsung’s own Bixby voice assistant. You can now personalize your experience by using a custom wake word. Instead of relying on the standard “Bixby” or “Hi, Bixby,” you can choose a word that resonates with you.

While this feature opens the door to personalization and creativity, it’s worth noting that the device’s accuracy in recognizing custom wake words might not match the reliability of the default options.

How to Set a Custom Bixby Wake Word

Here’s how to get started with your own custom Bixby wake word:

Step 1: Navigate to Settings.

Step 2: Go to Advanced features.

Step 3: Select Bixby.

Step 4: Tap Labs.

Step 5: Turn on Create wake-up phrase.

Step 6: Go back to the main Bixby settings menu and select Voice wake-up.

Step 7: Tap Create wake-up phrase (Labs).

Step 8: Follow the on-screen instructions to record your desired wake word.

Step 9: Select Continue.

Step 10: Say the wake word five more times to train Bixby.

Step 11: Select Done.

Once completed, the custom wake word will be visible and selected in the Voice wake-up menu. Saying the word should now activate Bixby on your Galaxy S25. The feature prevents you from using wake words used for other voice assistants like Google Assistant, Alexa, or Siri. You can also delete the recorded audio used to train the custom wake word if needed.

Now, you can summon Bixby with your unique wake word, adding a touch of personal flair to your Galaxy S25 experience.
