Clearing Website Cookies in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox

Ever notice how websites seem to remember your login info or shopping cart? That’s thanks to cookies! But sometimes these handy little data packets can cause a site to act up. If a website is misbehaving, clearing its cookies is often the first thing to try. The good news is you don’t have to wipe out all your browser cookies. You can remove them just for the problematic site! Here’s how to do it in Edge, Chrome, and Firefox.

Removing Cookies for a Specific Website in Edge

Microsoft Edge is a popular choice, so let’s cover it first. Here are the steps to delete cookies just for one site.

Method 1: Using the Address Bar

The fastest way to do this is straight from the address bar.

  1. Go to the website you want to clear cookies from. Then, click on the “Lock” icon (usually to the left of the address). Next, select “Cookies” from the menu. A separate window will pop up.
  2. Now, you’ll see a list of cookie categories. Click a category and then click the “Remove” button. Do this for each category to clear all the website’s cookies.

Method 2: Through Settings

Alternatively, you can access cookie settings through the main menu:

  1. Click the “ellipsis” icon (three horizontal dots) and then click on “Settings” from the menu to get started.
  2. On the left sidebar, click “Cookies and site permissions.”
  3. Next, on the right side, click on the “Manage and delete cookies and site data” tile.
  4. Click the “See all cookies and site data” option.
  5. You can then either use the search bar or manually scroll to find the website. Click on the website when you locate it.
  6. Click the “Trash” icon to delete all the cookies for the website. Repeat for each category if there are multiple.
