Clear Cookies in Microsoft Edge

Cookies are small files that websites use to remember your preferences and login info, which can be super helpful. But, they can also accumulate and potentially impact your browser’s speed and your privacy. Clearing them in Microsoft Edge is a good habit for keeping things running smoothly and securely. Let’s jump right into it.

Here’s how to clear cookies in Microsoft Edge:

  1. First, open Microsoft Edge and look for the three dots (the ellipsis icon) in the top-right corner. Click that to open the menu.

  2. Next, from the dropdown menu that appears, you’ll want to select “Settings.” This will open up the settings panel for the browser.

  3. On the left side of the Settings page, click on “Privacy, search, and services”. This section will give you access to all the privacy options.

  4. Scroll down until you find the “Clear browsing data” section, and then click on “Choose what to clear.”

  5. Now, you’ll see a “Time range” dropdown menu. Use this to select how far back you want to clear cookies. You can choose from options like “Last hour,” “Last 24 hours,” or “All time.”

  6. Make sure that the box next to “Cookies and other site data” is checked. If you only want to clear cookies, you can uncheck other options like “Browsing history” or “Cached images and files”.

  7. Finally, click “Clear now” to delete the cookies according to the range you’ve selected.

Important note: If you have syncing enabled, clearing cookies will remove them from all of your devices that are connected with that same Microsoft account. To clear them only on your current device, sign out of your account before following the steps mentioned above.

Keeping your cookies cleared from time to time will help protect your privacy and keep Microsoft Edge running smoothly by getting rid of old data.
