Zoom is awesome for big online meetings, but the browser version can be a bit limiting. One common issue is the lack of a proper gallery view to see everyone at once. If you’re using Chrome, there’s a fix for this. You need to install the Zoom Chrome extension.
Installing the Zoom App for Chrome
The official Zoom Chrome app brings the much-needed ‘Gallery View’, just like the desktop Zoom apps. To get it set up, you’ll need to grab it from the Chrome Web Store. You can search for it, or just click the link below to go directly to it.
-
On the Zoom app’s page in the Chrome Web Store, click the ‘Add to Chrome’ button to begin the installation.
-
A confirmation box will pop up, showing you the permissions the app needs. Click ‘Add app’ to continue.
-
After installation, click on the ‘Apps’ button in your Chrome bookmarks bar to access the installed app.
-
From the Apps menu, find the Zoom app and click on its icon to launch it in Chrome.
-
When you launch the app for the first time, you will be asked to sign in to your Zoom account. Enter your details and you’re in.
Enabling ‘Gallery View’ in the Zoom Chrome App
-
Once you are signed in, start or join a Zoom meeting using the app. By default, it will show ‘Speaker View’, which only shows whoever’s talking.
-
To see all participants at once, click on the ‘Gallery View’ button in the top-right corner of the Zoom app.
Now, all meeting participants should be displayed in a grid, allowing you to see everyone easily.
