Galaxy S24 users are waiting for the stable One UI 7.0 update, but a $110 Samsung phone already runs One UI 7.0. The Galaxy F06 5G, recently launched in India, has this new software. This situation seems to have upset many Galaxy S24 owners.
$110 Galaxy F06 5G Boasts One UI 7 Before Galaxy S24
The Galaxy F06 5G, priced at INR 9,499 (approximately $110), is among the first phones, alongside the Galaxy S25 series, to run the stable version of One UI 7.0. It is expected to be available starting next week (February 20).
Since Samsung is considering releasing another One UI 7.0 beta for the Galaxy S24 series, the stable One UI 7.0 update won’t arrive on these flagship devices before the Galaxy F06 5G hits the market.
Galaxy S24 users are expressing their frustration that they lack One UI 7.0 access despite spending a significant amount, while a budget phone user will experience it sooner.
Samsung’s software leadership suggested that One UI 7.0’s delay is due to extensive planning and development over the past few years.
Regardless of the reasons, releasing new software on a budget phone before high-end devices has caused some controversy.
The Galaxy F06 5G features a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD display with 800 nits brightness, a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP macro camera, an 8MP front camera, and a 5,000mAh battery supporting 25W fast charging.
Internally, it uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and includes a microSD card slot.
It ships with Android 15 (One UI 7.0) and is promised four major Android OS updates and four years of security patches.
Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint reader, 12 5G bands, Voice Focus, GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB Type-C port.
The early release of One UI 7.0 on the Galaxy F06 5G has sparked debate about Samsung’s software update strategy.
