Okay, so everyone knows the basic iPhone stuff, but it’s the less obvious tips that really make your life easier. I recently discovered a cool trick that can seriously speed up how you save images from Safari. If you’ve ever tried saving multiple photos from a Google image search on your phone, you know it can be a real pain, having to save each one individually. This method makes it much faster, even if it’s just one photo you need.
Just a heads up: This seems to work with iOS 15 and up on iPhones and iPadOS 14 and up on iPads, but not on iPhones running iOS 14. So, make sure your device is updated!
First, open Safari and do your search on Google, then go to the ‘Images’ tab.
Next, tap and hold on any of the photos you want to save from the grid of images. You’ll see some options pop up, but ignore those for now.
Now, drag that photo a bit until it becomes a thumbnail floating on screen - a corner of the screen is a good place for this.
Keep holding that first thumbnail with one finger and now tap other photos you want to save with another finger. These will get added to the bundle, and a number on the top right of the bundle will show you how many photos are in it.
Continue tapping all the photos you wish to save, always keeping that first finger on the photo bundle.
This also works if you’ve already tapped a photo to open it. You can grab the related images, or just go back and select more from the grid.
Method 1: Drag and Drop to Photos App
Once you’ve bundled all your photos, swipe up from the bottom of the screen (or use your home button) to go to the home screen, all the while not lifting the finger that’s holding the photo bundle. Then, find and open the Photos app.
Now drag and drop the photo bundle into the Photos app. You can drop them in ‘Recents’, any album, or just the main Library view.
Method 2: Using App Switcher
If you have an iPhone without a home button, you can swipe up from the bottom of the screen and then swipe left to directly open your Photos app if it was recently opened. The important thing here is to not remove the finger from the photo bundle.
Whichever method you choose, that’s how you save multiple photos all at once from Safari to your iPhone! You can also use this drag-and-drop trick to move multiple photos from one album to another within the Photos app, and that part of it even works on iOS 14.
