The Epic Games Store has released its 2024 Year in Review, showing significant growth in its PC player base since the previous year.
According to data shared by Eurogamer, the Epic Games Store now boasts 295 million PC gamers who have used the store in the last 12 months. This represents an increase of over 25 million players since 2023. These players collectively spent 2.68 billion hours in games.
The Epic Games Store’s Free Games Program, which has been running for five years, continues to offer users a new free game each week. Epic estimates that users have been able to amass a collection of games worth over $2000 through this program. The program will continue throughout 2025.
Epic attributes its success, in part, to its expanding game catalog, bolstered by the self-publishing tools they provide to developers. In 2024, 1100 games were added to the store. Payments to developers reached $255 million. While that figure is down 18% from last year, total spending on Epic games, including publisher-specific payment methods, is up 15% to $1.09 billion.
Epic also revealed its top titles for 2024 and highlighted the features introduced over the past year, including games on mobile, EA Play integration, and an expanded search beta. They also outlined features planned for 2025, such as gifting, multi-platform social features, non-gaming apps, and platform store switching.
Finally, Epic highlighted 20 of the most anticipated games coming to the store in 2025. You can view the full year in review here.
